Small-scale family farm
Composting and Cultivating
So far we've installed forty blueberry bushes, 350 square feet of raised beds for our Little Red Hen community garden (meaning those who contribute to the labor are welcome to share in the harvest), and a handful of hens. We've been able to share and sell eggs, flowers, and other fresh produce. We are so thankful for each of our amazing local composting partners who are committed to ecological stewardship, and we look forward to growing this part of the business and certifying our compost to sell this nutrient-rich product locally! It's still a grand experiment and growth opportunity, but we are learning so much and thankful for the opportunities to promote ecological stewardship in the Upstate.
Stewardship and Hope
Like so much in agriculture, composting is rich not only in nutrients but also in metaphors of humility, brokenness, hope, and new life. Our goal is to steward well and to help others in our community accomplish that same goal.
